When I got my puppy I was looking for a training program that I could use to establish the important fundamental relationship between myself and the puppy so that as the puppy grew older and more active I could take him with me on hikes without the risk of having him run off or be completely out of control. I also wanted a program that I could start right away that would give me an activity that I could do with my puppy that both the puppy and I would enjoy as we were training. I have been completely thrilled with the Puppy Basics Training program from T's Doghouse. Using this program established clear and effective communication between myself and the puppy while teaching the puppy rewarding behavior patterns based on looking to me for leadership. This program has helped me establish a training foundation that I use to continue training my puppy to use his independence and intelligence while we are exploring together outside and offleash instead of relying on artificial controls or restraints to force the dog to do what I want instead of what he wants. This difference between working together as a team and working against each other was one of the main things I was hoping to learn. I am not aware of a single trainer who puts more emphasis on allowing the dog to grow and develop to reach its full potential as well as letting the owner reach their goals as Talmage Smedley.

We took our two dogs in to help fine tune their skills and get them ready for our new baby. Our youngest dog was a handful. He had a bad habit of jumping on people who walked into our house, he would sit and bark all day long, and would hardly listen. He was definitely a dog that was running our lives. After the 6 week course with Talmage he has completely changed. He listens so well now, and hardly jumps on anyone unless instigated. We are so so happy with how well both dogs now act. We took both dogs in to get them ready for our first baby, and I’m now happy to say they are so well behaved around her. I highly recommend Talmage to anyone who has dog problems.

I have a Belgian Malinois female, 6 months old. She was biting people when they entered the home and she wasn't reacting to commands consistently or quickly. After the second week of the small group class she began to have less episodes of biting and by the fourth week, she was a different dog! She has really learned to communicate with us and isn't feeling like she needs to run the household anymore, now that my husband and I are the leaders. It's amazing to see how quickly she began to change and how nice our home has become to live with her. Even friends have commented on her change and have asked what we did. I highly recommend Talmage! He doesn't just help you train your dog, he know dog behavior and how to train the human to understand dog behavior better! I will be taking my other Malinois to him.
